    Hello everybody

The title probably sounds weird so let me explain.

It’s been several years since I last looked into WordPress themes and so I’m seeking input from those of you with more knowledge of the current state of the WordPress universe.

Essentially I’m thinking of creating a site to display my photography and I’m attracted to Photoshelter’s fairly simple design. I am wondering if it could be done for free, i.e. without having to buy a premium theme?

What I have in mind is a simple left sidebar design with a masonry layout on the front page. The sidebar links would go to topic-specific pages which also open up masonry pages. Clicking on a photo would open a large version of the image in a gallery. Ideally all should be built on modern code, like HTML 5 or such.

    Can this be done?

Thank you very kindly in advance
    Philip

You can use the Feature Filter on https://www.ads-software.com/themes/ to find a suitable theme.

    Thank you for the reply.

I had a look at that filter but unfortunately it doesn’t include a way to search for themes which resize images also when the browser window’s size changes vertically.

Most responsive themes resize images when the size of the browser window changes horizontally, but not vertically.
