• The keyword is hyperlinked and clicking it goes to the correctly defined URL.

However tooltips no longer show when hovering pointer over link. It stopped working several revisions ago.

My workaround is to downgrade to AALinks older 6.1.8 plugin, import my CSV with link/keyword/tooltip trios (with delete existing links option), then upgrade to latest AALinks plugin after which hovering over the keyword again shows the tooltip.

Any chance of a fix so no longer need to do this workaround? Suspect it’s some sort of DB refreshing issue as the CSV trio appears correctly in my DB.

Running WP 6.1.1. Clearing OPCache, LiteSpeed Database Optimizer->Clean ALL (inc transients) doesn’t resolve issue.

    Hello.

Thank you for letting me know about this issue. As I understand, there is a problem when new links are added. I will check to see what is happening and I will fix it.

    Hello.

I was unable to replicate your issues on my test sites. I need more info to try to solve this. Please give me your website URL where the links are not showing the tooltip. If you don’t want to put it here, sent it by mail: contact [at] autoaffiliatelinks [dot] com

Lucian, thank you for your support with this issue. Did a further proactive test to isolate this issue.

By testing older versions I found the problem was first introduced at version 6.1.9.5. There a CSV import no longer showed hover text, but rather I needed to downgrade to one older version 6.1.9.4, do a CSV import, then upgrade to 6.1.9.5 for it to work.

Future CSV imports require I firstly downgrade to 6.1.9.4 (or older then that works too), do my CSV import, then update to the latest plugin for hover text to work.

The 6.1.9.5 changelog indeed refers to “export options”.

Thank you for helping me with the details.

One more question: this issue happens only when importing links?

It is working when you manually add/edit links?

Thank you. Interesting that you ask if adding links manually has this same problem.

The “Advanced” button in the admin panel stopped expanding to allow me to do it there as of Version 5.8.4.8. Version 5.8.4.7 did allow it. This is well before the 6.1.9.5 version cited as having this problem.

Would be nice to have that problem solved as well.

Regarding the first problem, with import/export. I think I figured out what is happening. Please update to the latest version and let me know if it works.

One last question about the import/export. The file you were trying to import was exported using an older version of plugin? Just to confirm that my assumptions were right.

Regarding the expanding problem, there might be a javascript error. Please open Developer Tools while you are on the respective page (Ctrl+Shift+I), and go to Console. Post here the javascript errors you get there related to Auto Affiliate Links.

Thank you. Great news.. latest plugin now again shows title hover text of CSV imported AAlinks. I can forego the workaround. Appreciate you nailing it ??

Also found that Chrome does expand the Advanced Option in admin panel, but FireFox doesn’t. There is no console javascript error in FireFox.

To answer your question, I generate a CSV from an Excel spreadsheet from data entered, then import it into AALinks. I do not use the export CSV function in AALinks.

What was happening is that at the update when it stopped working for you, I added more fields to be exported. Before, it was only link, keywords and title(tooltip). After, it was link, keywords, disabled checkbox, title, custom limit, disclosure checkbox (in this order – the same as the inputs appear on the edit screen). If you notice, the title was the forth column.

This is why it worked when I exported and imported a file using the same version. But if you exported a file before the update, and wanted to import it after the update, or if you created a CSV yourself with link, keywords and title, it didn’t worked.

I changed it so the title will remain the third, and in this way it will work with older exported files too.

I will start looking into the firefox issue too.

Love your diligence in smoothing out the CSV import process for me.

Have done more testing and found the reason the AALink “Advanced Options” was not expanding to show the Title field in Firefox was due to Ad-blocking plugins. So just need to temporarily disable the plugin to gain access to that field in whichever browser I am using.

Can you tell me exactly which Adblocker software you are using that blocked our script?

    Sure.. It is:
