• This WordPress documentation plugin looks really cool but has no updates in the last 6 months

However I contacted the author and they told me that they don’t update WeDocs plugins because they don’t have any bug.

So I tried it and so far, it’s simple but working OK

Who said it’s abandoned? That would be very wrong.

There is no updates means it is a stable version and doesn’t have any bugs. Our teams is also actively uses weDocs everyday for our 2 sites.

    Be assured ??

    Hi Tareq,

Yeah but a plugin without updates in 6 months – and as you don’t develop it, soon no updates for 8 months, 10 months, 1 year
Will be not compatible with new versions of WP, with other plugins, will have vulnerabilities, will have no new features .. ?
That’s the strength of WP to have updates on each component every 1-2 weeks

I teach people not to use any WP component if it has no update in the last 1-2 months

    Now you make me doubt

I’ll give it a try and give you 5 stars if it works perfectly
+ all my love, because it’s free

As long as the “tested up to” matches latest WordPress version means it still supported. Updates don’t necessarily need to occur within X months for it to be considered abandoned.

Also an abandoned plugin won’t have support / replies from the authors ??

Good ?? Using it now and changed my review to 5*

What about using WeDocs with a membership access plugin, if I want to show only the documentation with people having a specific login, will it work ?

Well you’re in luck. I’ve customized wedocs for Paid Memberships Pro and only members can gain access to documentation. I don’t work for wedocs, and I’m not sure how I can go about showing you my customizations?

Maybe reach out to me on Twitter and we can take it from there (@andrewlimaza)

I guess any membership plugins has access control system based on the membership label and should provide a access metabox on post types. In that sense, you could restrict the users by specifying the level.

Nice ?? I’ll use the standard control that Tareq talks about.
    Thanks for the offer Andrew
