Hi, I’m currently testing the plugin on a staging site, and have not succesfully managed to do an abandoned purchase test that are registered by Mailchimp so that the automation can kick in.

The plugin is set up correctly, and ordinary test purchases are registered correctly in MC. For the automation for abandoned cart I’ve set up one of the templates offered by MC.

I have then added products to cart, and closed the window, browsed elsewhere and also tried to pay with a visa (with insufficient funds) before abandoning the cart. Still the send queue in MC says 0, the sent e-mails report says 0, and nothing seems to be captured.

So the question is – unsurprisingly – what might be wrong / am I doing wrong?

    Hi @orjansteffensen,

Thanks for dropping us a line. Happy to help out with some more information about the plugin and when those abandoned carts are sent over.

Carts are sent over to MailChimp through the plugin as soon as a visitor fills in their email address during checkout. Once that email address field has been filled in the plugin will then create the cart and associate the email address provided to that cart with an API call. On the MailChimp side the email address is required when the cart is created, so there’s no way to pass the cart over to be recovered before that is provided.

Since you’re not seeing the Abandoned Cart email queueing up within the Automation the best way forward here is going to be getting in touch directly with the support team. They’ll be able to collect some additional information on what exactly is being passed over and whether any thing on the MailChimp side is in conflict. In order to expedite that process here’s a link over to getting in touch with them – MailChimp Support Options: https://eepurl.com/b2Q7X5#Contact-Support

Hope this finds you well. Cheers!

Hi, just to inform in case anyone else has this problem.

This was an error due to multiple “stores” registered in the MC account. It was fixed by deleting the old stores via API-key, and then reinstalling plugin.

    Hey @orjansteffensen

Thanks for coming back to share that solution! We’ll be sure to leave this thread open incase anyone browsing the forums needs that bit of info.

If you need anything else, feel free to let us know.
