    1) Hi, as a test, I set the Abandoned cart timeout to 1 minute: https://prnt.sc/vqzgv3 – Then added some items to Cart as a customer. The Abandoned cart email sent out fine.

However, I then click on a button on the incoming email: https://prnt.sc/vqzh29 – That I had linked to the Cart Link: https://prnt.sc/vqzgyi – The Cart token page did open fine. I quickly closed out that Cart page after opening it up without clicking on anything else, just to test.

Then after the 2nd minute, it sent out another Abandoned Cart Email notification to the same customer/email address. IS THAT NORMAL? If the customer opens up their Cart Page again but not check out then closes it again for example, that automatically triggers another abandoned cart email?

I thought it would just trigger and send out a one time email only for the same Cart activity.

    2) Also, under ShopMagic / Cart – where it shows the log of open cart status, recoverable orders etc.- IS THERE AN OPTION TO CLEAR THE LIST? or delete certain entries? Right now that only way the list empties is when the customer actually remove all items from their cart.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

    Hi @khoavo,

I think that abandoned cart worked as intended in your case. When you visited cart page (from the link), you refreshed its status from abandoned to active.

When you left this page for a second time it changed from active to abandoned after 1 minute and automation was triggered.

The main culprit here is the time. 1 minute is not recommended, because it’s too short time period. We recommend at least 15 minutes as cart timeout.

Your example is trying to hack the system but when I think longer about it, adding a protection against such an infinite cart loop sound like a good idea. I’ll discuss it with our team and let you know.

Regarding clearing logs, that’s a feature which we are gonna to add to ShopMagic. Currently, if you want to clear logs, you have to clear a specified ShopMagic table.

Thank you for valuable feedback ??

Hi, I used the 1 minute only to test out the triggered email. I’ve changed it to 60 minutes now.

    Thanks again.

So I did another test changing the cart abandoned timer from 1 minute to 60 minutes. The first cart abandoned automated email sent out exactly 60 minutes. But then as I not open the Cart again at all and continue working on my other pages on the site. I then received 2nd automated cart abandoned reminder email within about 20 minutes. I know for sure it wasn’t another 1 hour.

Just in FYI in case you want to double check it. Thanks.

Thank you very much for your feedback. I recreated it and in my installation everything works as intended. All of the abandoned cart emails should be stored in your outcomes (with a date when specified automation was triggered). Could you check it for me?

If you want, you can write directly to us [email protected] and we will conduct further troubleshooting.

Once again – thank you ??

Hey, upon further testing, I think there might be a possible bug with the timer or some trigger event.

I created a customer registered account. Logged in, added some items to cart, clicked over to check out page, then I logged out & closed the browser.

The abandoned cart timeout set to: 60 – https://prnt.sc/vulz5h – Automation email triggered at 60 minutes as shown: https://prnt.sc/vulz9b

After about 15 minutes, I logged back in via the same customer account. Viewed my Cart, changed the QTY, then clicked over to the Checkout page. And about 10 seconds later while still browsing on my Checkout page, THE ABANDONED CART EMAIL GETS SENT OUT and my customer account email received the notification.

I’ll have to disable the abandoned card automation feature for now until we figure out what’s causing this trigger. Don’t want my live customers to receive reminder emails randomly.

Let me know what you find out. If needed, I can send you my WP login to your email address. Hoping to launch this new site soon though. Thanks again!

    Hi @khoavo,

thank you for further testing. Your issue bothers me, especially that I’m not able to recreate it on my end. I created a lot of different automations for abandoned carts with different time (from 5 minutes to 2 hours) and every time it works as intended.

However, I can not leave you with an unsolved problem. Write to us at [email protected] because most likely we will need some private data for further investigation.

    Thanks!

Okay, I’m gonna give myself one last try to solve this before I email you with my WP login, etc.

This is what I just did to test and see if you can ID the problem:

    1) I have my WP admin, plus I added a registered User to test (Role: customer)

    2) I’m using the following plugin to set the entire site to private for now since I can’t have the site found on Google search just yet, so not sure if this plugin might be causing abandoned email timer issues:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/all-in-one-intranet
Which means I’m unable to test out adding items to cart as a guest shopper.

    3) Abandoned cart timeout set to 15 minutes

    4) I logged in as the registered test user, and added an item to cart. Then I logged out and closed the browser.

    5) I then logged into the site as the WP Admin to check to see if ShopMagic Abandoned Cart captured the item added to cart by the test user and it was there, so that’s fine. Then I logged out as the WP Admin & closed the browser

    6) After about 25 minutes gone by, still no abandoned email sent to the Test user.

    7) Then I decided to log back in as the WP Admin, and as soon as I click the login button, it triggers the Abandoned Cart Follow up email and it got sent to the Test user’s email address.

I even tried this scenario again twice and realized the abandoned email does not get sent according to the timeout set, but it gets triggered only when I log back in as the WP Admin after the 15 minutes timeout. If I log in & out of my WP Admin before the 15 minutes timeout, no emails gets sent. Only after the 15 minutes is what triggers it. Very odd.

I did clear out all old Cron Jobs from all OLD forms, plugins, etc. IF YOU CAN DETERMINE THE POSSIBLE ISSUES FROM THIS, THEN LET ME KNOW. If not, I’ll email my site login for you to further investigate.

ShopMagic is a GREAT plugin. I just need to get this abandoned cart email timer fixed before I can launch my site.

    Thanks,

    KV
