Abandoned Cart Not Working

We have the plugin installed and its been syncing checkout data back to mailchimp and adding people to our newsletter just fine, however the abandoned cart feature is not working. When I log into our mailchimp account it shows that the there have been no abandoned cart emails triggered which I know is not the case because I can see how many times via our facebook ads that people are getting to the checkout, but not checking out.
I’m confused because as far as I can tell if woocommerce and mailchimp are talking to each other to pass successful order data, it should also be working for the abandoned cart too.
We have an automation setup for abandoned cart and its set to send 1 hour after cart abandonment. The automation is live and running. It is not paused.
As far as I can tell it is using the correct connection – although there are 2 options in the dropdown box within the “Send To” section. I’ve tried both and neither seem to trigger the email. I’ve tried being logged into my worpdress admin account, adding something to the cart and waiting an hour and I never get an email.
