I was testing automated abandoned cart and came across this bug – When a cart with contents A is abandoned, the user is correctly added to the relevant list and scheduled to be sent the auto abandoned cart email. However, if in the meanwhile, the same user creates another order with contents B and leaves it pending (no checkout or not abandoned), the auto abandoned cart email incorrectly pulls contents B.

  • Hi nosajgnuel,

Thanks for the post. To clarify a bit, it is expected that the abandoned cart email would pull in the last items that were left in the cart during a session. When a prospective customer adds items to their cart and includes their email address, that information gets sent over to us almost instantly and it gets updated as that prospective customer changes the contents of their cart. This is to ensure that we are only suggesting what is relevant for that particular potential customer.

That being said, if this is at all problematic to your workflow we always appreciate hearing feedback! If you’d like to reach out to the MailChimp support team and let the team know why this is problematic to your workflow, the MailChimp feedback form can be found here: https://mailchimp.com/contact/feedback/

Thanks – please let us know if you have any other questions we can help out with in the meantime.

    Warmest Regards,

    Pearl
