• Has this plugin been abandoned? They seem to think so on the phpBB forums.

It would be a real shame because I suspect there are plenty of people out there who really want to sync their WordPress blogs with a phpBB board.

Are there alternatives to bridge the two platforms? Or will WP United return? At the moment it’s impossible to install even the abandoned plugin because the WP United site is down.

  • Glad you were able to get it to work. That is easier than downgrading.

I thought about trying to update the plugin my self however my JS programming is considerably weaker than my PHP. And I don’t use enough of the features of it to consider it worth the effort of trying to fix things I don’t use or have the time to learn how they work.

The plugin is licensed under gpl.I might fork it, and minimalize it. I really don’t need all that stuf anyway ??

Wpu was ‘abandoned’ a few times already. Maybe a change is required :/

    Hello guys,

Since I’ve upgraded to WP 3.6, my WP-United installation is broken.
I get the message “Connected, but not ready or disabled due to errors”.

It seems that you were able to make it work with WP 3.6, without downgrading.
Could you let me know what I need to do exactly?

I’m technically savvy but don’t know phpBB/MOD very well.
(I don’t exactly know how to use AutoMODs).

When I re-install the AutMOD, I get the message “Unexpected header, ending loop”, as Ca9ine, but I don’t understand how to correct the problem.

My main issue is that I use DAP (Digital Access Pass) to automatically create WP users.
Until the WP upgrade, WP-United allowed me to sync users seamlessly, which was great.

I just need a way to automatically create a phpBB account when a WP account is created (by DAP), using the same credentials.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’m even ready to pay someone to make this work again…

    Thanks for your feedbacks!

    @marin Maru?i?

If you feel like updating the comment sync module for WP 3.6 / phpBB 3.x only that would be super and I’ll buy you many beers!!

I upgraded to WP 3.6 and have issues with this plugin. I completely removed the plugin and reinstalled with no change negating the fact that clearing the cache works.

When upgrading from 3.52 to 3.6 my user mapping was working, but cross posting from blog to forum was not working. It was displaying a post with no content in the forums for those of you who want to check that out.

That would make sense as I don’t use that feature so I wouldn’t have tested that. Thanks for the info.

I’d really like to, but I can’t. I have a deadline 01.09, and I can’t just take 2-3 days off to get rid of the mess from this plugin. (from what I’ve seen there’s a lot)

When I get some free time, it’ll be a different matter altogether. I need phpbb integration now, so I went to drupal with this project, as their phpbb integration is way more solid and has I think 5 active developers. ??

When I fork this, I won’t do it alone. If any1 wishes to join up, I’d welcome the help.

Not sure what it means, but the site is live again with the spam messages gone.

    Don
