Ability to always charge VAT for specific products

    This is a pre-sales question. We are considering switching from the WooCommerce EU VAT Number plugin because it does not support a requirement we have to always charge VAT on specific products (event tickets for a dinner & drinks). Since HMRC rules require VAT to be charged by restaurants on food/drinks, the same applies to the events that we run. Therefore it is necessary to charge VAT on these event tickets regardless of the attendee’s country of origin or VAT exception status.

    Can this plugin support this use case? I assume we’d need the premium version regardless.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your interest in our plugins.

    In the paid version of this plugin, there is an option to choose which tax classes exemption is applied to (with the effect that classes not chosen can never be exempt). So yes, you can do this – you must make sure that the relevant products are in separate tax classes from classes on which tax can be exempted.
