Ability to create multiple portfolios on one site?

Is it possible to create multiple portfolios that are filtered separately? For instance, I would like one set of portfolios to show up on my “Events” page and another set to show up on my “Publications” page, and I don’t want them to be filtered together. Any help would be appreciated.
