Ability to make authors unable to publish but still "save as pending"?

  • I currently have “authors” set to edit posts but unable to “publish”. In my workflow an author must save the draft as “pending” once they are finished so that it can be edited before the post gets published.

    By unchecking the “publish” option in the author roles in this plug in, it also does not allow to “save as pending”. Is there a way to have this plug in allow authors to “save as pending” but not “publish”?
