Ability to turn off Font Awesome

    Hi,

    It would be extremely helpful if we could turn off front-end loading of the Font Awesome stylesheet.

    Currently UM is loading its own version of this, but it is often superfluous to a theme because many themes include fontawesome these days.

    Many other “advanced” plugins give one the option to not load FA again if it’s already available, please can you also do this so that we do not have multiple versions of exactly the same stylesheets loading?

    FA is part of our minified CSS file. Are you using the minified css or disabled compression? Thanks!

    hi, I’m using the minified version, but this doesn’t change the fact that the resource is being duplicated.

    Unfortunately I can’t turn off the version being loaded by the Theme (it is the theme after all), but I am using 4 other plugins which have the option to load font awesome if required, yet each one has the option to exclude it in cases where it is already being loaded.

    I understand, we’ll offer an option to remove FA but that will be for “non-minified” version.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

    This is not really very SEO friendly.. but since UM is currently offering a nice interface and has other good features, I am willing to accept that for the moment, as the negative impact is small.

    You can always use a plugin for minifying css and javascript if you do not want to use the minified UM files which includes font awesome.

    I join @gecko_guy, i think this must be an option – to either load FontAwsome script or not.
    My theme already loads all necessary font awesome files, i don’t need UM to duplicate another request. beside the fact that the UM requests an old version of the script.

    or please supply a function to disable the um loading of font awesome.
