    Hi,

I’m trying to build a one-page slider-only site where the pages are all presented as content on top of a full-width slider background.

The idea would be for the slides being presented via a text link rather than the thumbnail. That way I am “minicking” a menu via the slider

I would need to associate each slide to a specific page content.

Is that possible with this plugin?

    thanks
    Ricardo

Hi! You can use our codes inside the links of the layers to make the slider switch to the slides you give. The code is this:
    ToSlide[2]
where the number is the index of your slide, so all you need to do is to put this into the link field: https://d33v4339jhl8k0.cloudfront.net/docs/assets/5620be92c69791452ed4c442/images/5630e063903360610fc6c157/file-XH73AarcKH.png
of any layer, and if you click on that layer, you will be switched to that slide.

In the full version when you click on the Link button to select this option from the actions: https://doc.smartslider3.com/article/371-link

    That is just awesome! ??

    Thank you.

Now I don’t see an option of having a slide present some HTML code (say another page). Let’s say I want a slide that has a thumbnail gallery within it?

Does the text layer allow me to put in regular html and even shortcodes?

We have a limitation, that you can’t have a slider inside another slider, because the outer slider’s code would be applied to the inner too, and that would mess them up.

You can put html codes inside the text layer, also shortcodes, but the problem with shortcodes are, that for example we have a css code for the h1 tag inside the slide, and you put down a shortcode, which has a h1 text in it, and in a lot of cases our h1 css code is stronger, then the shortcode’s css code, and our code will be applied. Also the shortcodes usually call in their codes with different responsiveness, which might not work well inside our slider. What I can suggest is, that you should just try it out, and see what happens. We don’t really support this, but it can work.

thanks, I see what you mean.

So a slide can’t load its content off another page or post for example?

Maybe I can have one page (that has a gallery in it) configured to look exactly like one of the slides, and then a slide just loads that page?

Just a follow-up, I’m having some good success with adding a slider (another type, not smart slider) by referencing a shortcode inside of a text layer in smart slider. ??

I wonder if I’d have the same success using a smart slider inside a smart slider… I’ll give it a try

We are pretty sure that Smart Slider can not be exists inside a Smart Slider as that could mess up specific functionalities.

Were you able to step forward to the result what you try to achieve? If not, it could help us a lot if you could attach some screenshots of different views what you need. (We might not see the whole aspect what you really need) ??

    Yes, thank you.

It’s correct that a smat slider inside a smart slider doesn’t work. I was able, however, to get another slider plugin inside of the smart slider.
