About me sidebar

  • Hey my website is https://www.owlwise.com and I have been trying to put the sidebar in for an about me section to appear on the right-hand said of my website on every page. I don’t know what’s goin on.

    I did this:

    Appearance> Widgets> Main sidebar> edit it to my liking
    Page> template> default

    Nothing happens.

  • First you have to make sure that the default template is using the sidebar that you’re customizing.

    That will require either reading the theme documentation or looking at the code to see what’s going on.

    It doesn’t have much in that area. It says something like sidebar if active

    How can I add in the sidebar?

    what theme is your site based on?

    does page.php have any ‘get_sidebar()’ code?

    are there other widget areas than ‘Main Sidebar’?

    I’m afraid that this theme does not offer adding a sidebar by default. You need to make some changes in the source code to be able to do that, but that is rather complicated.
