    Hello,

I want to translate your plugin into Spanish, but I found two issues that keep me from starting:

    1. You’re using a wrong text domain: You need to change your text domain to match your slug and also modify the text domain in all your source files. This change is necessary because your plugin “Requires at least” is below 4.6. You can find more info here.
    2. There are some string non-internationalized: Since I want to start using your plugin on one of my sites, I would like to help with the internationalization of these strings.

If you agree, I can fork the plugin’s repository on GitHub and begin sending you pull requests with the changes.

    Best regards,
    Yordan.

  • Hi Yordan,

Correct; Stop Spammers is not yet translation-ready.

Neither the language files nor the code is set up correctly for translation yet.

These are just placeholders for when it hopefully happens eventually.

When will it happen? Maybe never. We’re a tiny team, with almost no funding for the project. Unfortunately, making sure that the thing actually works takes priority over language translation.

    I wish I had better news. ??

    Thanks

    Hello @bhadaway,

I understand perfectly, that’s why I offered to help you with this task in my first message. Do you want a hand with that?

Let me know, and I’ll try to help you prepare the internationalization of your plugin so that we receive the new year with the plugin ready to translate ????

    Best regards,
    Yordan.

Unfortunately, we just can’t right now. Sorry.

And I really wouldn’t want you to waste your time on this.

Here’s the main problem. There is a TON of text in the plugin currently, and at least 50%, if not 75% of it, needs to go, cause it’s just garbage.

Once that’s done, we’ll be in much better shape to put effort toward translation.

So, not only is the plugin not translation-ready, it’s not ready to be translated either. ??

It makes sense. In any case, count on me if you need help with this.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

    Best regards,
    Yordan.

    Happy Holidays! ??

In the new update, strings are finally translation-ready.

It’s not perfect, but it’s a massive step in the right direction.
