Any way to disable Previous period from Visitor Insights page for good?

Yeah, I know I can click to disable the view, but I have to do it every time, and when yu have half hundred webs, it’s a little tedious…

    Thanks.

  • It used to be something we could turn off in the settings. I am having trouble with it too.

Hi El Tio Rufi and inoda,

I’m Navid, the product manager of WP Statistics, and I wanted to personally thank both of you for your feedback.

@el Tio Rufi: Would you prefer the option to disable it permanently on a specific chart or page, or would you like a global option to turn it off across all views?

@inoda: Could you explain the issue in a bit more detail so we can understand the problem better and work towards a solution?

Your input is really valuable in helping us make WP Statistics better for everyone. I appreciate your time and help!

    Best regards,

In my case, I open all my websites to see the daily visits in “Visitor Insights -> Views” (admin.php?page=wps_visitors_page&tab=views)

I find it confusing to see four lines instead of two, and the dotted lines confuse and bother me a little, plus, in my case, I don’t need them.

I’d love to have some option to choose what type of visits I want to see in the graph in the settings menu.

    For example:

Disable Previous period in views in the views graph
Disable Previous period in Visitors in the views graph

Or if it’s too much trouble:

Disable Previous period in views graph

And since we’re asking ?? I’d love for the graph to have the option to show bars (like in JetPack) instead of a continuous line

Thank you very much for the quick response and for your attention.

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and suggestions! I really appreciate the thought you’ve put into this.

While our current code base doesn’t allow for such specific customizations just yet, we’re actively working on a completely new user interface, and we will certainly consider these points as we move forward.

In the meantime, we’re adding a new setting under Settings -> Display Options that will allow you to disable the “Previous Period” feature in the graphs. This option will be available in one of the upcoming updates, either in version 14.11.1 or 14.11.2.

    >we’re adding a new setting under?Settings -> Display Options?that will allow you to disable the “Previous Period” feature in the graphs.

This setting should have been implemented in an earlier version.
If this were restored, my needs would be met.
Currently, one can “temporarily” turn it off by clicking on the dashed line on the graph screen, but it reverts back to its original state after reloading.
Also, even “temporarily” it can only be erased up to the previous day, not for the current day.

    The wording was slightly incorrect.
When I click on the dashed line, the dashed line on the graph disappears, but the numbers displayed when I hover the cursor over it show the previous week’s values for the current day only.

    Hi @inoda ,

First off, I apologize for the mistake in my previous message. The new setting to disable the “Previous Period” feature will actually be available in one of the upcoming updates, either in version 14.10.1 or 14.10.2, so you should have access to it within the next week or two.

Regarding the issue you mentioned about the numbers still displaying when hovering over the graph after hiding the previous period, you are absolutely correct. I’ve reported this issue to our team, and we’re working on getting it fixed.

    Thanks,
    Navid

    Hi @inoda ,

I wanted to let you know that we’ve just released version 14.10.1, which includes several enhancements and bug fixes. The issue you reported regarding the “Previous Period” values showing when hovering over the graph has been fixed in this version.

Additionally, we’re planning to introduce an option to disable the “Previous Period” feature across the entire plugin in the next upcoming release (14.10.2), so stay tuned for that!

    Best regards,
    Navid

    Dear @eltiorufi and @inoda,

We sincerely apologize for the delay in delivering the option to disable the “Previous Period” feature.

The feature has been addressed in this pull request. However, due to certain prerequisites, we cannot release it in v14.10.2 and have to adjust our release schedule. It is now planned for inclusion in our upcoming version 14.11, which is scheduled for release on October 13.

Please rest assured that this feature has already been addressed; only the release timing has changed.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we strive to improve WP Statistics.
