    My website has a hook (rediscache_discard_metrics) that is executed once an hour. What does this frequency have to do with it? Can I disable it? Or the time it takes to execute can be changed (extended).

    If you disable the hook, then your Redis database will grow because more and more metrics will be collected. You can disable metrics entirely if you like.
