When I rewrite and republish using ‘Yoast Duplicate Post’, will it not be added to the revision (a WordPress feature)?

    Thank you for reading.

    Hi @komino

Yes, you can see the changes you have made via revisions after using the Rewrite and Republishing feature. Here is the screenshot. Do you face any issues?

Feel free to let us know if I am not picking up the question correctly.

    Thank you for your reply.

In my environment, when I rewrite and republish, a revision is not created. Is this because the revision limit is set to two?

    Hi @komino

What is the version of WordPress on your site? Also what is the version of Yoast Duplicate Post you are using?

    Hi @611shabnam

The wordpress version is 6.6 and the Yoast Duplicate Post version is 4.5.

    Hi @komino

Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

We recommend creating regular backups of your site and database for your site’s health and safety. A backup is crucial before making important changes on your website and provides you with a safety net if something were to go wrong. Learn more about the benefits of regular backups.

    Hi?@611shabnam

Thank you for your dedicated reply.
Due to site operations, I am unable to check for plugin conflicts. I am currently discussing the plugin conflicts with my boss.
I have two further questions about the revisions that result from rewriting and republishing.

    • If you rewrite and republish, save as a draft, and republish, a revision will be created. Two revisions will be created: one in which all entered text is deleted, and one in which all text is added, including newly added characters.
    • If you rewrite and republish, and then republish without saving as a draft, a revision will not be created.
Please let me know if you have any information on these two issues.

    Thank you for reading.

    Hi @komino

Please create a new thread for new issues. That way, it’s easier for us to match replies with a specific problem. Thanks!
