For my About Us page, for which I have the focus keyphrase “About us”, can I safely ignore the following under ‘Analysis results’:

    PROBLEMS

    1) Keyphrase in introduction
    2) Keyphrase density

The words ‘About’ and ‘us’ are quite generic and hard to incorporate into the text. This is much easier to do when it’s a post about some interesting topic etc.

    3) Text length

Should I still aim for the recommended text length of 300 words in a static page like the About us page?

    IMPROVEMENTS

    4) SEO title width

This is too short because it uses the short ‘About us’ H1 heading.

    thanks,

A keyphrase represents the phrase that a potential visitor will type in Google’s search and where you want your site to appear in the results for that phrase. “About us” is not typically a phrase to target in search results.

    thanks for the info,

given the relationship of the text used in H1 and the focus keyphrase, would you suggest I don’t use “About us” for the H1? So I can use another keyphrase for this

    thanks,

The H1 heading should represent the post/page so, yes, please use the keyphrase in the H1 heading where possible.

Is there any value in trying to optimize the About us page?

The H1 heading needs to be “About us”, it can’t really be anything else.

And as you have said, using this in the keyphrase is not recommended.

Giving?SEO advice, in most cases, requires a deep analysis of your site to provide accurate advice for your specific setup, even for what may seem to be a simple question.

Our main advice at this point?would be to check for a local SEO company and see if they can help out. If you are using a web development agency, you could ask them, as most agencies have at least a basic understanding of SEO as well – the good ones do.

I’m going to leave the about page as far as optimizing it is concerned and just run with it.

Yoast works much better with a post of proper content, according to it’s own rules and analysis it provides. This is a good thing. People can find my about page from there.

    thanks for the help

Two things I want to avoid at the start of getting my site up is complicated, expensive, or unnecessary delay
