Now that WordPress v1.5 has been released, the Support Forums are booming with questions and comments. I haven’t seen a load this large in a while. Never the less, we are doing our best to meet your support needs (remember, we’re all volunteers). Before posting in the Support Forums, please give careful consideration to this guide. Also, I would like to direct your attention to the new WordPress Documentation. The new documentation is a community effort and is nearly complete. Please search for your answers in the documentation before asking in the forums. Speaking of being nearly complete, we need plugins. If you are a WordPress plugin developer, please add your plugin information to the Plugins page. If you are not a developer, and you’re just looking for some WordPress plugins, the official plugin repository is at wp-plugins.org, but at present wp-plugins.net is more helpful. It contains tons of plugins for anything you would ever need. It also features a plugin manager for your WordPress install, that will allow you to do one-click installs of plugins which saves a lot of hassle. I hope all of you get a chance to enjoy WordPress v1.5. Speaking of which, if you are upgrading from v1.2.x to v1.5, follow this guide.

    great post!

And the first person to mention 1.6 (or greater) (or words to the effect thereof) will be dragged screaming from here and made to do unspeakably vile things.

    Really really bad things.

Let’s not go there eh ?

Heh, and don’t cross Podz either.

P.S. Would you guys mind adding this to the “bump” list for a while?

    1.6?? :/ I heard it was going to be called 2.0 ??

Thanks for the hard work guys… I have been running into some issues… google for them first, then I use search here, then if I cant find answer, then I make a post. But I am not in a hurry anyway.

Thanks for posting a link with a lot of WP plugins- hoefully most are compatible with the 1.5 version

I hit the PayPal link today to add to the heavy medication fund — oops, development fund! Nice work. I am taking a few days off to do nothing except “me” things and one of those things is the upgrade. I’m very excited about it. Keep up the good work.

So I guess Podz was the second then? ;)

Read this now! My apologies if you’ve read it before.

If the following has been written else in here already, my apologies.

When you’re posting, please indicate what version of WordPress you came from. And if you’ve been having problems, be specific in explaining what steps you took in troubleshooting so one of us don’t repeat a step you already did. Link to your blog, too.

If a plugin you were using in 1.2 isn’t working anymore, please post in the Plugins and Hacks forum to reduce clutter in other areas.

Since 1.5 is deemed stable, don’t post to the Beta Discussion forum unless you’re using the nightlies.

Like MacmanX said, the Codex has most of the answers people have been asking about. If something’s wrong, don’t pout – write about it in here and notify a developer so they can fix the problem.

I hope this was okay to add to his, James. ??
