    Avoid ConsultingPro
I wish I had thought more about the decision of paying for Consulting Pro.
    1. The support model is a miserable experience. They dismiss tickets and your input as a matter of practice, it seems. One benign ticket was closed immediately because it had the content for one cell of one table. Another times I’ve gotten responses: “This isn’t a theme issue” (it was), “check for plugin conflicts” (I had already ruled it out), “we don’t provide DB support” (wasn’t asking for it), “we don’t support development” (well, OK…). I’ve provided them information which to me warranted a cursory 2-3 minute test on their end, which they didn’t or wouldn’t do before telling me to prove my case. Responses to tickets submitted usually come at about 5AM the following day.
    2. I’ve turned off all of their features. Their featured home page was replaced day one.
    3. I’ve replaced most of their features: Testimonials, Contacts, Google Analytics, SEO, and it has no gallery functionality. I’ve replaced a bunch of their main templates with my own, the default page template, header template, and contact template.
    4. Their knowledge base which they will point you to has never yielded any usable results. Instead, StackOverflow and WordPress Codex are unquantifiably better–like comparing zero to any positive number.
    5. I don’t know what they package as part of their theme that I use any longer. Despite the time and cost wasted working with ConsultingPro, I will replace it when I have a chunk of time to give it.

Were I to start over from scratch, but not build a theme from scratch, I’d pick a theme offered by www.ads-software.com or one by a reputable vendor with high marks for support.
