Accent problems after updgrading to 1.5 form 1.2Mingus

  • Hello,
    I’ve just upgraded WordPress to 1.5 from 1.2Mingus and now all the accented letters in the posts appear like “???” in Firefox and like another strange simbol in Explorer.

    I edited a couple of posts and re-typed the letters, but I hope there’s something easier to do to correct the problem.

    Any suggestion?

  • Is this on the site provided in your profile? That one says it’s powered by another script, not WP…
    As for your question: it maybe you’ve used another encoding (e.g. iso-8859-1) for your 1.2 version and the upgraded 1.5 version has the default utf-8 encoding. You have 2 choices: either to convert the old posts to utf-8 (that’s the hard way) or change the encoding in your Options to the one that will display the correct characters.
