Years of fighting with all the problems which this plugin have all this time. In the beginning it use to be one good plugin, but after when timely take it – catastrophe. There where white page or fatal error, or crashed site after update. Impossibility to update at all.
Also extremely slowing the websites. Support always say that this is because of cheap hosting plans with very low amount of RAM and slow processor. Let me say, I have my own server with two 4 core Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz and I have 32 GB RAM and in the moment when this plugin is activated my website become extremely slow, even if there I do not have even one event.
Sharing – this is almost mission impossible. Always other picture or no picture at all. Do not have this problem with posts and yes I have tried many sharing plugins – same result.
But with all this I used to stay and fight only to have this poster board views. Not any more. After the last problems with impossibility to update to last version, I have decided to delete the plugin and install it at new. Of course firs I have exported my database, then deleted the plugin, installed at new, imported the database and nothing, no one event, 2181 events gone, the plugin can’t see them. That’s all. I am done with this plugin. Thank you Timely.
This is the tread in support forum: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/all-in-one-event-calendar-has-been-disabled-due-to-an-error-10/
If somebody wants I can show what kind of help I have on email.

Here is the edit of my review:
Thankfully to this good explanation from Benjamin I were able to recover all my events to the website. Benjamin clearly explains in which tables are the plugin details, not like you Sunny Lal.

In which tables all in one event calendar keeps data? For example where are the tags? When I delete the plugin will all of this data also be deleted or only from this tables which are created from the plugin?

Yes all the settings will be deleted from the new installation. You can export them as backup first, then afterwards, import them back in.

    All the events are in

    wp_ai1ec_events
    wp_ai1ec_event_category_meta
    wp_ai1ec_event_feeds
    wp_ai1ec_event_instances

All events where shown back only after when I restored wp-posts table. Also in my database even doesn’t exist table wp_ai1ec_event_feeds. After installing of version 2.5.27 at new, this table wasn’t created.
Now I will change my review from 1 to 3 stars, but not thankfully to you Sunny Lal. Thankfully to you was this 1 star, 3 stars are for the work of other people of the team of this plugin. Only 3 stars because all other problems still exist.

In the very thread you posted, I’ve clearly instructed you to not delete your plugin:

“Delete the file uninstall.php from the plugin directory that is currently on the server (found under /wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar). Deleting this file ensures that when you uninstall the current version of the plugin, your event data and calendar settings will be preserved when you delete the plugin (don’t skip this step – it’s important!)”

You ignored this step and went ahead and deleted the plugin, which runs a cleanup script, as any complete WordPress plugin should, deleting the database entries. You lost all your events because you deleted the plugin and did not follow instruction.

I provided additional steps that you could have used to retreive your events:

“Perform a complete back up of your database before proceeding further”

    You ignored that step too.

You lost your events because instead of performing the necessary steps regarding the incomplete PHP installation on your server, you chose to delete the plugin.

This is what really happened and is clear when you look at the support thread. This review and rating is uncalled for.

@jdembowski I ask that you please review this review, and it’s linked support thread ^^ as I believe this rating is in error, and undeserved.

I’m afraid that will not happen.

I think that Sunny Lal doesn’t read even what I have written. Everybody can see this in the link. And even here I have explained, that I have backup of my database, that I exported it before to delete the plugin. AND THAT I HAVE ALL EVENTS IN THE NEW TABLES, BUT THIS PLUGIN DOESN’T SEE THEM. Is this clear Sunny Lal?
Your post now only proof this what I say here.
OK, a bit of emails, so everybody can see how it is.

I can, but I think this will be very difficult for you, because the website is in Cyrillic.Meanwhile I have figured to activate the plugin. I did delete the plugin, then import of the data in the new created tables and now I do not have any event. The plugin do not see them, but they are in the database. What is this now, what is wrong? Do I have to change something, so the calendar to start seeing my events?

    Hi there,

If you deactivate and delete your plugin, the events will all be deleted via a clean up script that runs. There is a safe way to reinstall by preserving events, but if you already deleted the plugin, then your events are gone.

The only way to get your events back would be to restore your database from a previous backup. If you don’t have any backups, you can ask your host — most web hosts keep regular database backups.

Hi, I did that. I have a backup of my database and all my events are back in the database, but they are not on the website, the plugin don’t see them.I just have added another new event and it is in the database with next post id after all my events, the plugin see it, but no one of others.
I have my own hosting, so I can do everything.

Ok. If you are reinstalling from scratch, new associated database table would be created, which is connected to the calendar. Just import the old tables from backup into the new tables:

    wp_ai1ec_events
    wp_ai1ec_event_category_meta
    wp_ai1ec_event_feeds
    wp_ai1ec_event_instances

After all my explanations he is writhing this in bold. Oh my god! And also that my PHP installation is not complete. How then all my other websites and plugins works? How I can update them without problems? Only all in one event calendar can’t update.

    @pehog,

The Zendesk ticket system that we use does not allow for bold text formatting.

Also, there is nothing contradictory in your post. It shows that I clearly explained that if you have a backup, how to restore from backup. And this was done only as a courtesy, as backend server support is not normally part of our plugin support.

    Also this is a lie:

“Support always say that this is because of cheap hosting plans with very low amount of RAM and slow processor”

^^ at no point were you ever told such things by anyone from Support, as clearly visible now that you have posted private/proprietary support communication on a public forum, which I believe (@jdembowski?) is against the rules.

Clearly, you have expressed a disdain for provenance like a chip on your shoulder. Please move on.

It’s not against the rules. Let’s review.

    1. The reviewer made a statement.
    2. The author replied. Pinged me too. Don’t do that anymore, OK?
    3. The reviewer posted correspondence between the author and the review. No email addresses were shared and there certainly isn’t any private/proprietary communication here because you sent that to the reviewer. Seriously, people can release the emails they receive or send.
    4. The author replied. Pinged me again. Really, don’t do that anymore.

    And here we are.

I’m closing this review. Here’s the final outcome.

The reviewer doesn’t have to use it anymore. Please move on with your life. Seek understanding and compassion from all other people.

The author can stop replying to this review (mainly because I’m closing this review). The reviews are feedback and this has gone well past being productive. There are better uses of a plugin developer’s time than getting into tit-for-tats with former users.

    Have a nice day.
