Acceptable– some bad design practices
-
hi
after reading this review i installed and see what fbrock means:
1. when creating the thumbnail views, the plugin do not respect the image size/proportions, and sets a predefined one, not cropping, but “stuffing” the image, which is just unnaceptable. author may say we should resize the images before, but this is wordpress and its 2015. so, thats a no-go.
2. the “lightbox” and “justified” galleries does respect the images size and create a cool masonery board with lightbox preview, BUT theres no full resolution available for the clicked image, so we may end up seeing it at even smaller size that in the board. so.. no-go.
3. “options are just for paying users, sorry”. hell, no-go. just remove the option and put a list of additional features and an ad there, mate ?? its less offensive/misleading.the plugin looks good and has potential, but the current free state, doesnt really meet requirements… while it *may* work (and i do not know if the pro version has theese limitations or not) for some situations, i dont think its ideal, let alone acceptable.. forcing width/height of an image in the mobile/responsive era.. hell no.
