• I am trying to access the dashboard for my site (usually at https://www.newbfc.com/wp-login.php), but it automatically comes up with a “Access Denied” message and white screen. It does not even bring up the login screen. I am completely new to all of this. I have tried searching what to do and have found various things such as clearing cache/cookies, opening up through FTP, etc. I have no idea what an FTP is and have never done that, so I really have no clue what to do to fix this problem. I was just on the site yesterday and everything was fine.

Have you called your host? I think that’s the best place to start since you don’t have access to and you’re not comfy with FTP. This could be a number of things and it’s really easier if you just call your host. They can and should help.

Something may have updated on its own and broke something or it could be a permissions setting.

I did check the site home page & it works fine.
But the admin login displays the Access denied error.

There may be fewer scenarios where this type of message might occur , most common among them are File permissions.

    FTP in to host
Check file permissions on wp-login.php, if the permissions on this file are “00”
    Change permissions back to 0644
You should be able to login again
