Access denied for user

I am getting this error when trying to log into domainname.com/iwp: [Warning: mysqli::mysqli(): (28000/1045): Access denied for user…]
It refers to line 29 in the includes/mysqli.php file, which I think is where it authorizes. I don’t know why I am all of a sudden getting this error. I have used IWP for years. What changed to cause this?
