• Hello,

we would like to create a product catalogue on our intranet and this looks very promising. However we need to give the readers persmission to create and edit products. I’m thinking of using “Members” for defining user captabilities and tried enabling all capabilities with the word “product”/”shop” in it, but my test account still can’t access the product catalogue, there is no menu for it.

How do you give other user groups/roles access to this plugin?

    Thank you in Advance!

  • Hi Esoma,

If you have the premium version of our plugin, you can control which users access UPCP by going to Options -> Premium -> scroll down to Set Access Role (it should be near the bottom of the Premium options). From there, you can select the basic user level that can access the plugin.

For example, if you select “Author” from the dropdown, Author level users and above (i.e. Editor and Administrator) will be able to access the plugin when logged in.

Thank you! We would like to create a new role for this plug-in, one that doesn’t have editor rights but can use this plug-in. Would that work?

    Two other questions:

    1. Is it possible to generate automatic e-mails to certain e-mail-addresses whenever a product or a group of products is created?
    2. Probably this is not possible, but I’ll just ask: Can you create an automatic e-mail to the creator of a product after a certain time? Or define an automated deletion of a product after a certain time?

    Hi Esoma,

Yes, if you create a user role, it should appear in the “Set access role:” dropdown options.

Unfortunately, for #1 and 2 there’s no functionality in UPCP for this.

    Hello,

I just created a new user role, but unfortunately it won’t appear in the dropdown options. There are only standard roles available. We would really appreciate this function!

    Hi Esoma,

Sorry about the confusion, it appears that this isn’t currently a feature of the plugin (the user roles are limited to the default ones from WordPress).

We’re going to take note of this as a feature suggestion and will discuss the viability of implementing it in a future update.
