I was hoping to restrict access to specific pages that have download links. All is working well, but how can I allow users to access the Profile page(../wp-admin/profile.php)? After logging in, I receive the message “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” I would like to allow access to change one’s own password. Is this possible with WordPress Access Areas?

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
for the edit profile page (as for the entire wp-admin area) a user needs at least a subscriber role for your blog. The access areas plugin only affects the displaying and editing permissions of certain posts, entire backend pages like the profile editor should be not affected.

A little warning regarding download links: please be aware that the plugin does not protect the filesystem directly. Knowing the download URL would enable any person to download the file in question. Hope that’s is not an issue for you.

    regards,
    j?rn
