Access to ‘/!svn/me’ forbidden

  • Hello,

    I did svn checkout plugin code from https://plugins.svn.www.ads-software.com/my-plugin, made changes in a file and then when i give svn ci -m ‘changes description’ it asks for user name and password. When i give the username and password, i get the following error message:

    svn: E175013: Commit failed (details follow):
    svn: E175013: Access to ‘/!svn/me’ forbidden

    I have checked the URL, username and password and all are correct.

    Can anyone help me with this? Thank you.

    The developer who developed the plugin says that he has given all access to the username that i am using to commit changes.

    I’m having the same problem with my own plugin. Using my own WordPress login details. Damn annoying. I’ve updated the plugin many times, but today it keeps giving me that error.

    Before i have the same problem and i type my username in low case iwebwebdesign that was not working and get the error !svn/me. But i ask it to support from WordPress. And he told me this:

    That means you’re using the wrong username or password. Seriously.

    iWebWebdesign is your username. Note the capital letters.

    Afther this my login works.

    That means you must the username and password both correct write with upercase and low case.

    Also i get this info from the mail.

    When using your svn, your ID – which is the same as your www.ads-software.com login ID – is case sensitive. You cannot use SVN with your email address, only your user ID, so if your account is JohnDoe123HAY then yes, you need to use that exact ID.

    I’m having the same problem.

    I have repeatedly tried to make commits to the same plugin I’ve always committed to in the past, using my www.ads-software.com username and password, but I get the following error message: Commit failed (details follow): access to '/!svn/act/{MY_ACCOUNT_HERE}' forbidden

    Got it fixed…

    So…apparently it had something to do with the version. I tried brew install and link subversion. But in the end after upgrading, backing out changes, and manually re-adding, deleting, etc…I was able to commit with Versions (OSX client) FWIW.
