So far have been unable to get this to work in cross-posting between a facebook Page and wordpress blog.

A couple of hours after saving my WP Book settings and logging back in, this message always returns “Your Facebook Access Token for WPBook has expired. Please visit the settings page for WPBook and grant a new access token. Until you do so, cross-posting to Facebook and import of comments will fail.”

Also, when clicking the “checking permissions” link, I receive this message:

“The Facebook profile ID you are currently logged in to Facebook as is . You have defined 60706225 as your Facebook user id in WPBook Settings.

Your Facebook Profile ID must match the ID with which you are logged in to Facebook, or else an access token will not be stored and publishing to Facebook will fail. Please update the “YOUR Facebook Profile ID” setting in WPBook settings to match the userid shown above.

FB profile has granted these permissions:

Caught exception in getting permissions for user: Parser error: unexpected end of query.Error code: 601″

A couple of problems there obviously, “logged in to Facebook as is .” the ID is blank, and the 601 error code at the bottom. I can verify that the Facebook ID being used is correct, and clicking the “visit this profile” link in WPbook brings me to the correct profile. Other items to note:
- “visit this app profile” brings me to the correct profile
- Facebook app secret is correct
- “Visit this canvas page” takes me to the correct canvas page, with our blog’s articles coming through the app
- “Publish new posts to the wall of this group” is checked and Page ID is correct
- Profile ID being used is an admin of the Page ID
Any one know what settings I could be missing to get this to work? I’ve checked and rechecked the instructions, and looked for forum posts with these errors but most people resolved it by saying they corrected something simple like their profile ID.

One odd thing I noticed, in the instructions’ section for WPBook under stream/wall settings, it says to click “Grant permissions” once the IDs are entered. This link does not appear anywhere in my wordpress settings. screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/zhxM1CO.png

Sorry you are having problems. Are you logged in to Facebook as the page admin at the point that you visit the “Check Permissions” page?

That page url should be something like: https://apps.facebook.com/appname/?is_permissions=true&wp_user=1

With the “appname” part replaced by your apps name in Facebook.

The problem with “logged into facebook as” suggests you are not logged in to Facebook when you try to check this url.

A few troubleshooting questions:
- What’s the URL of your blog outside Facebook?
- Does it support HTTPS?
- What is the url of the app inside Facebook? Does it correctly show your blog in normal view?

Which may have the answer for you – seems like newly setup apps aren’t getting the initial permissions they need to then create the appropriate grant permissions link on that page.

The link is supposed to be on the “Check Permissions” page
