Accessibility of Gallery Photos

  • The Gallery widget creates thumbnails as background images where alternate text can not be read by screen readers. Further, links that wrap thumbnails are empty resulting in screen readers reading the file name. Please change the Gallery widget to use the actual images with alt text so that scree reader users may access the content.

    The Slider widget also has this issue. The photos should be inserted as images rather than backgrounds so that alternate text may be included.
