    Hello All:

My name is Chris Nusbaum, and I have recently been hired by the College Communications and Marketing department at Lynchburg College to serve as an accessibility specialist. While testing the college’s homepage, I found a slider which had an ever-changing rotation of news stories about LC. Obviously, JAWS was not interpreting the elements in this slider as links or buttons at all; it was only reading them as straight text, and was not allowing me to interact with them. Also, the rotation changed some quickly that even if JAWS read a story’s headline in the form of a link or button, the user wouldn’t have time to click on it before another story took its place. The Web developer tells me that they are using the Master Slider plug-in, which I have no experience with. Does anyone know if there is a way to make MasterSlider accessible, or if there is an accessible alternative which will keep intact the visual look they seek?

    Thanks,

    Chris
