• Evening Everyone,
Just installed wordpress via softaculous from my web host. Thought everything was going great until I had to log in to admin to start builing my site. Black Screen Error 404 appears. I have tried to clear cookies/cache and try again but that hasn’t helped.
Any other ideas. I am a real novice with techie stuff so ABC approach is helpful.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Now I get the same message 404 when I try to access my web host cpanel to try and reset plugins

Did you manage to carry out any of the steps suggested above?
Have you tried contacting your hosts about this? It sounds like they are experiencing problems.
