• OK, another question coming around… ??

I have a custom template page foo.php. If I understand the documentation right, when I access website.com/?foo=12 WordPress will search for foo-12.php, then foo.php, then default to index.php.

However…it’s ALWAYS defaulting to index.php. I’m guessing I’m missing some key component here. I added the “Template Name” tag to the top of the file, although I’m not sure if that’s necessary.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • You do not access custom template page that way. In Admin > Write > Page, you choose your new custom template page from drop down box. If you cannot find the name of your new template, then go back to your template and check what you’re missing in source. If you find the name of your template, choose it and write what you want, then publish the page. The new page will reflect customization you made for that specific page. Good luck.

    wheres admin>write>page?
