Accessing Local install from a mobile device

  • I currently have a local install of WordPress 4.0 that I’m using to develop a site. I’m starting to intigrate mobile functionality and wanted to know if it was possible to access the local install remotely from an android phone.

    Installed and run using MAMP (I’m running OSX 10.9.4)

  • If you just need to know how your site looks on smaller screens use Firefox/Chrome and activate responsive mode by pressing Ctrl+Shift+M.

    Or if you have a WiFi router connect your PC/Laptop to it, also connect your mobile via WiFi and enter your computer’s IP on the android browser like https://192.168.1.102
