Accessing localhost files using Transmit FTP

  • Please help me!!!

    I have started to use Transmit FTP to access my hosted site but I have now installed MAMP and I’m developing a new site. However, I have no idea how to use the FTP program to access those files. I get asked for:

    Server
    Username
    Password
    Port

    What on earth do I put here?

    You don’t need FTP to access local files, because they’re local files.

    You can access them through the Finder in OS X, or if you still want to use Transmit, the pane on the left shows your local files.

    If you need more help with Transmit, contact its developer at https://www.panic.com/transmit/support.html

    IF you add this to the bottom of your wp-config file it will not as you anymore.

    /*remove me before going live */
define('FS_METHOD','direct');

    but be sure to delete that link before publishing your site to the web.
