Accessing the email

    Hi
    I’ve recently taken over as the administrator on our WordPress website. I’ve changed the email addresses that the contact forms point to, but I also need to move the forwarding email. If someone emails our organisations general email (the one listed under Settings / General / email), it still forwards to the old administrator. How do I move it to point to my address?

    Email forwarding is not controlled by WordPress. It’s controlled either by the email provider, the hosting provider, or the domain registrar (depending on how it was set up). You’ll need to check with them.

    Ah.
    Is there any way to find out who any of those people are? Are there any links on WP that will tell me?
    Otherwise I think it’s new email time!

    No, WordPress has absolutely nothing to do with the operation of your email.

    As administrator of the site, you should have been given access to the hosting panel and domain registrar (or someone in the organization should have access), otherwise you’re going to have huge problems later. I’d start looking there.

    Sadly, it was set up by a volunteer for our secretary, who then left, and now the secretary is retiring and handing it over. And now we discover we have no idea who hosts it. Oh well. Thanks for your help, anyway. It’s appreciated.

    nd apparently it’s definitely not the domain register, but is probably the host provider.

    Your domain’s name servers are pointing to ns1(and ns2).metaregistrar.nl, which typically means that https://metaregistrar.nl/ is your hosting provider (or a reseller on their platform).
