• Is this expected behavior or it’s an issue: on some of our websites we face such “issue” : accessing example.com/wp-admin isn’t redirected to the address with ending slash (wp-admin/), and respectively, all dashboard sidebar menu links become like: example.com/post-new.php etc.. , instead of example.com/wp-admin/post-new.php

  • I can’t reproduce this. I was only testing locally though. I made sure that my htaccess file is the standard one (it’s not putting the slash on), and tried it with 4.7.12 and 5.0.3. Both add the slash.

The menu items are bare page names (no scheme or domain), so it would make sense to see the problem if the wp-admin and slash got stripped off. But what is removing that? Some plugin?

I don’t know probably some of the plugin is doing that. I will observe why that happens on some of your sites, and post the next updates here.
