• I am not certain how it happens but I sometimes I will broadcast/update a page and instead of updating it will create a duplicate page.
domain.com/page-name will then get a second page added to each site as domain.com/page-name-2 so the old page will still appear in the site instead of the intended update.

I suppose I did not be sure to link to the child pages first, does that cause the dupes?

So to remove the dupes from all my sites, could I create a page in my default site and give it the same name as the duped page that already exists in my child sites, domain.com/page-name-2

Then choose “delete children” from the broadcast dropdown menu to delete that page from all the sub sites. Would that work or is there an easier way?

    thanks!!

If the post is not linked then BC will not know about its existence on the child blog before creating a new page.

So what I would do is:

Create a new page with the same name on the parent blog.
This new page will be called page-name-2
    Find unlinked children
Delete the page and its children

Maybe I should expand the “Delete Before Broadcast” plugin in the premium pack with a feature to delete even similar pages before broadcast…

Yes that would be perfect if it would delete pagename as well as pagename-2. As long as you NEVER purposely add “-2” to any of your pages that would solve the problem right?

What is happening is the site admin is saving the page without finding the unlinked children. Initially all the site boxes are unchecked so if they create & re-save a page, no problem. But after checking boxes and then they go back to that page to update, previously checked boxes will be checked but any new sites since the last update will be unchecked. They often don’t pay attention & forget to find the unlinked children on EVERY update so the new sites get the dupe pages since they are not checked.

Thanks Edward, appreciate the quick support as always!!

I figure it would be best if you e-mailed me so that you can help test the new function. ??
