• I have what seems like a complicated question that may or may not have a solution, but if anyone can help out I would be extremely grateful.

I recently had a wordpress.com blog, which I decided to move to a self-hosted www.ads-software.com location. On the old wordpress.com blog, I had purchased a unique domain (nuparc.org), which I wanted to keep. To that end, my goal was to have the nuparc.org address redirect to my new, self-hosted www.ads-software.com location.

One of my fellow helpers, decided to try and accomplish this by changing the home URL of the self-hosted www.ads-software.com location to nuparc.org, which is the address for the old wordpress.com blog. So now whenever you type in my www.ads-software.com address, it redirects to the old wordpress.com blog. I have no way to access my dashboard to change this.

Where is this setting contained within my FTP? Can I change this back without accessing my dashboard?

Essentially, what I’m looking to do is change my site and home URL back to the same thing “groups.northwestern.edu/parc/Wordpress,” so that I can redo the redirect properly. Right now what happens is a loop (nuparc.org tries to redirect to groups.northwestern.edu/parc/Wordpress, which tries to redirect to nuparc.org, etc…)

Is this something that can be done? Please and thank you.

Clarification: Rather than going to my self-hosted www.ads-software.com dashboard, it goes to the dashboard of my old wordpress.com blog dashboard – which doesn’t have the settings page that I need to make the change back.

So what’s happening is my new www.ads-software.com website is redirecting to the old wordpress.com webpage. I need to make that not happen. Unfortunately, the only way to do that is to access my www.ads-software.com dashboard, which I cannot access as the website redirects.

This has some different ways to fix it.
