Accidentally Change Blog Address/URL

No you add that to the wp-config.php file and use your url instead of “example”.

You only use this code to reset your urls to as they were before you accidentally changed them in Settings>>>General.

@kmessinger: I didn’t use the example.com, I placed my own URL in its place. I was saying that was what I used not that I actually placed just that code into wp-config.

@govpatel: I did do that, I was trying to change the URL of my WordPress and I changed it within the settings>General from the wp-admin page.

Where do I place this? Just anywhere in my wp-config file?

This is confusing.

I don’t have the field:

update_option(’siteurl’,'https://www.example.com’);
update_option(’home’,'https://www.example.com’);

to fix the issue but my wp-config doesn’t have that at all.

2. Add these two lines to the file, immediately after the initial “<?php” line.

@kmessinger: I got the two coding lines mixed up, sorry, I just used the define code again and it worked and my Site URL/Home URL are both locked and my blog is working just as it was before.

It does not matter where you add it but if you use wp-config.php file to reset urls they will be greyed out in Settings>>>General unless you take the code out once the urls are reset.
