• I am new to WordPress and bbPress. I have a problem and a question. My problem is I accidentally deleted the home page. Now I see the home tab, with a search box, but there is no way to change it. How can I either delete the home tab entirely, or restore the original? Second question is, how can I put a bbPress forum on the main page of my WordPress site?

  • Hi,

You can go to the Menu tab and change this to whatever you need or remove it, You can also re-create the page that you had setup for the home page in the pages option to the left.

    Thanks

How exactly did you delete the home page? If you did it via the ‘Pages’ menu and hit ‘Delte’ it will still be in the trash unless you’ve also gone in there and deleted it again. If it’s in the trash you can restore it back to the site again.

Thanks for the replies. They both helped, but did not solve the basic problem. When I go to my base URL, I still just see a box that says “Nothing found” with a search box. I can’t seem to access that page to modify it. All of the other pages, including the one I restored from trash, now have a page ID attached. I don’t want my viewers to be confronted with a search box when they access the site, and have to navigate to another page to see my content. Is there a way to restore the base configuration?
