    greetings,

I created a custom post type. but then I changed the name Post Type Slug and saved it. I deleted the old post type thinking that my posts in post type that I created at first were transferred to the new post type and I saw that my posts were gone.

    thanks.

    hi @technokaptann

Well, the best news is going to be that the posts still exist in the database, as we don’t delete post content, even if a post type in our settings is deleted.

I would go ahead and re-register a post type with the same slug that they had, that way they show back up in the UI and admin menu. This will just be a temporary thing, you won’t need to keep it forever.

Next I would make use of https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/post-type-switcher/ to convert the old posts’ post type over to the new one. Once you’ve converted them all, you can go ahead and remove the temporary post type as well as the switcher plugin.

After that, you should be good to go.
