We are using Livemesh Accordion for a Retailer Directory. Retailer listings are single-spaced <br>. We separate listings with a double-space <p>. The problem occurs if there are edits to the previous accordion section on the same page. After the previous section is edited, the previously saved (subsequent) section loses its formatting. All the <br>’s revert to <p>’s.

We don’t recall when this started happening. We just happened to notice today that a number of listings were improperly formatted. There are 3 accordions on the page. The first displays this issue. We haven’t touched the other 2 accordions on the page, as there is no issue with the formatting in those sections.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I tried reproducing this in my dev machine. I inserted the exact text input by you and formatting remained even after multiple edits. Can you pls use the Text tab instead of Visual one(since it reformats content) and see if that makes a difference?

We can achieve the desired result if we use the Text tab. However, if we even once click the Visual tab, the format is overwritten again in multiple accordion sections. Unfortunately, the people who maintain these retailer listings know nothing of html. They must use the Visual tab.

Do you think this issue may be related to a conflict with Site Origin Page Builder? The reason I ask, is that simultaneous with this problem we experienced some broken page layouts in WooCommerce. We remedied the WooCommerce issues by reverting to the standard WP editor.

Apparently this is a WordPress core issue. The WPautop strips out (“cleans”) html when switching from the Text editor to the Visual editor. There’s a number of forum posts and articles about this. There are also some plugins that attempt to deal with this one way or another, but none of the solutions are entirely satisfactory.

I’m marking this thread as “resolved” since it is not an issue with this Livemesh SiteOrigin widget plugin.
