• I noticed an issue with the Accordion Block. If you load a page with accordion items that have images or video embeds (iframes), then often when opening accordion items the browser jumps down the page — in other words the anchor link of the accordion causes the browser to scroll.

I wonder if it has something to do with media in WordPress being now loading="lazy" so the accordion script is not accurately judging the height of the content? I think it might be this because the issue seems to occur only on accordion items have have images or video content in WP Column blocks.

Unfortunately I can’t post a link to the site with this bug because it has not gone live yet (it is launching soon!). Please let me know what we can do to fix this.

    Hello there!

Sorry for such a late response.

If it’s still relevant, I would like to inform you that I wasn’t able to reproduce the same issue in my local environment. I used the latest version of the Getwid plugin and one of the default WordPress themes – 2023. I added a couple of images and videos (links) to different accordions of the block – everything seems to be working fine, I haven’t noticed any page jumps or scrolls.

So let me know if you still have this issue on the latest version of the plugin. And if yes, whether there are some particular steps that I need to take to replicate this issue on my side. Thanks!

    Hi Eugene,

No worries on the late response. Any response is better than none, especially with a totally free plugin like this one, I can’t really ask for more. ??

The site that shows the issue is now live, so the delay works well. The issue occurs on all pages with the Getwid accordion. The site uses the latest version of Getwid (1.8.7). This page shows the issue the best. On desktop, in Chrome or Firefox, scroll down to the second accordion item called “Proof is in the pudding“. If you click to expand it, your browser jumps down to the bottom of the page and you have to scroll back up to get to the top of the accordion content. If you stay on the page and close and expand it again though all is fine.

Let me know anything else I can do to help you reproduce this if this doesn’t help enough. Thanks!
