• I saw an “account suspended” notice when I clicked on the “contact forms” link on the dashboard but the contact forms still seem to be working.

I dont know what the account suspension is for, what it means in terms of whether the plugin will still work or how to fix it. I really need my contact forms to be working.

Any ideas why this has happened or how long it will take to fix it??

anyone heard anything? ive had no response ??

Me too. If you go to https://championforms.com you’ll see that thier hosting account has been suspended. That doesn’t look like good news to me.

Don’t understand why this plugin is depending on https://easy-contact-forms.com to pay their hosting bill. I think we see the site suspend message because it’s an iframe or something. The forms are still working.

I agree with mfjtf, the plugin does not depend on the website. I also think that message is coming from the site but the plugin, at least for me is working as it should. I saw this message this morning as well but my forms are working properly and I received messages as I normally do.

So do not worry about it at this moment, this message is coming from their site but everything is working fine on our side. Amem!

The message seems to originate from the suspended hosting account – the text is the same. Doesn’t affect plugin functionality as far as I can tell.

There are two requests I found in the source which have something to do with this – one that looks likely is to get a video tutorial, obviously this would fail and instead print the ‘This account has been suspended’ text rather than the video the request was looking for.

I’ve forked the plugin and am going to remove the callbacks to avoid confusing users, I’ll post a link when done.

If the author is in any way active, please would you consider either pulling my fork once done or publishing your own update? One of my clients uses this plugin on 3 sites and was worried about this, thinking that her own account (with us) was suspended.

Thanks and sorry to see the authors are having trouble ??

Right switched accounts, sorry for confusion… as promised here is a fork which has the calls to championforms.com commented out in the code, so when using this version you won’t see the account suspended text.

You can hit the ‘Download as ZIP’ button and install it manually if it is bugging you or your clients – please beware though, I offer no warranty or license whatsoever, and the original code is not mine, it belongs to championforms.

If the plugin author is still active, please let me know and I will transfer ownership of this repo to you.

We’re experiencing this issue as well. Unfortunately the fork did not work. Is there any update from the original author?

I have no clue except that my forms are still working thank god! I found this to be a really useful contact form plugin so its a shame they are experiencing some sort of issue. Thanks alancolyer for your help and others for advice.

The plugin is working on all my sites just fine.

Does anyone have the plugin zip file? I need it for clients and I can no longer download it.

@fiveonedigital did something not work right with my fork? I did test my changes and they seemed to work for me, what exactly went wrong?

@jay, I made a fork of the plugin with the requests to the championforms.com website removed. Although FiveOneDigital says they had trouble using it you could give it a shot – you can download the ZIP from my github repo here: https://github.com/alancolyer/wordpress-champion-forms-easy-contact-forms

This is based on version 1.4.9 which was the latest at time of writing. If you download as a zip then upload to the target WP site via the plugins -> upload page it should work. Can you let me know if not?

    Cheers

My bad, I got it working. Thanks!

@alancolyer Well I took your fork and installed it via FTP. I didn’t want to remove the original plugin, so I simply deactivated it. (This very well could be the problem.) Then, by switching the plugin name in your fork to “Easy Contact Forms Clean”. I was hoping I could active it with the old one deactivated. I tried this, but it said there was an error because one of the files “did not exist”. I assume this is because of the path name didn’t match something, but long story short I had to move on, so I just activated the old plugin for the sake of the forms on the site working. Have any insight? Maybe I should have remained the plugin or not used FTP?

Also, I just noticed the error seems to be fixed on their end. In any event, @alancoyler, I’d still like to get your fork to work. Would be great to remove those callbacks so we don’t have to worry about this happening anymore. Would gladly donate for something like this.
