    I’m a mechanic, not an IT guy. I’m in way over my head. I searched the forums and couldn’t find an answer, so I’m hoping someone can help.
    I don’t have regular internet access, so I don’t get to log in very often to post or update. I think I might be running version 3.??… it’s been several months since my last update. The problem I’m having is:
    A friend of a friend help me set up my website, and he’s been hosting it for a couple of years with no problems. A couple of months ago, I tried to login to post, and the page says “account suspended”. I know it’s not my domain, I’ve already talked to them. It’s the host. I’ve contacted my host several times and gotten no response. I don’t know what to do. How can I save my website?

    Oh yeah, and I have no backups at all. I use a different computer every time I use the internet, so I don’t have wordpress installed on a computer anywhere. Am I going to have to start over from scratch? How do I transfer my domain to another host?

    The account you were hosted on has been suspended. The only way out of that is to get in touch with your friend who was hosting it or the hosting provider themselves.

    If you can’t get a copy from the current hosting provider, yes.

    How do I transfer my domain to another host?

    Your domain registrar will have instructions on how to direct your domain to a new hosting provider.

    When your site is back, either as it was or from scratch, take a look at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/updraftplus/ which you can use to backup to online services like Dropbox, Google Drive, DreamObjects, Amazon S3, etc.
