Accounts cannot be used as authors.

Hello. I’m currently debugging an issue for a customer of ours and I’m curious if this is deliberate or not:

1) Allow multiple accounts for everyone? Unchecked.
2) Multi-account email addresses: [email protected]
3) Register an account with email set to [email protected]
4) Navigate to an “edit post” page.
5) The account cannot be picked as an author.

Any help would be appreciated.
