    Hi,

I’m trying to find a plugin that will display accurate overall pageviews rather than beginning from the date I enable the plugin or use the code I currently have.

I’ve tried a few but nothing seems to be working at all for me, I’d prefer to not have to resort to beginning from scratch in regards to numbers as it won’t help us monitor popularity between articles, reviews and the likes.

If anyone has any recommendations or tips I’d appreciate it.

    Many Thanks.

WordPress doesn’t have anything in it to track page views. Anything you do will start from the day you enable it, because otherwise there’s nothing to track the views, and there’s no way to collect views that have never been tracked.

Most sites use Google Analytics, it’s pretty much the default go-to solution. Is it accurate? Not always. But it’s still really good. None of the alternatives are 100% accurate.

But does that matter? If you’re comparing popularity and your site gets a reasonable number of visits, surely you’re after general trends, not precise numbers?

    Hey, thanks for the replies.

I was just wanting to display the views on each article and review. Just didn’t want to have to start the count again after the previous articles had already been published for a while. May just use that method for future articles I guess.

    Cheers.
