• Hi guys,

I’ve installed the plugin to hopefully pull through a field to the Yoast Meta Description etc. But it doesn’t seem to do anything. I’m not sure if I need to run through the Optimisation of the SEO data again to make it re-check the fields, or if there is something else we need to do after activating the plugin.

Does it have some Variables to pull through, that I can’t see? I just feel that there is something missing from this process.

I’ve got the latest version of all the associated plugins, and the core is up to date. I have no conflicts of any of the plugins too (i’ve followed the Yoast Conflict process mentioned on another question). I would just like to be able to get this working for my client.

Any help or direction on how to do this would be great.

    Chris

  • Hi Christopher,

Thanks for reaching out to us. We understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t work correctly. Let’s look into this.

Using the Yoast SEO plugin, ACF and the ACF Content Analysis for Yoast SEO plugins should be enough for the plugin to analyze the content.

When you say that it doesn’t seem to do anything, do you mean that the Yoast SEO plugin does not seem to be able to analyze the content inside your custom fields?

An easy way to check would be to add a text custom field through ACF and add content to that field. The SEO Analysis in the Yoast SEO plugin should at least be able to count the number of words in the field and display them in the analysis under the Text Length assessment.

Also, can you please let us know if you are using Gutenberg or the Classic editor and what types of fields you are trying to analyze?

Please let us know if you have any further information that can help us continue troubleshooting this issue.
